Happy Easter and time to book Pilates!
By Pip on 31st March 2023
I hope you like this year’s Easter picture of the beautiful pussy-willow by the stream just below Viney Hall, in our wonderful Forest of Dean!
We break from classes now for two weeks. When someone groaned about this at the beginning of the week I pointed out that you can do your own exercises at home, and also it’s essential to keep the instructors fresh! Give us a break so that we don’t get cross and irritable, and come back rejuvenated and full of enthusiasm for the new term!
Of course, we are still here for you for all 1:1 sessions, Pilates, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Counselling, Massage, and Podiatry, during this time (except Bank Holidays), so it’s a good opportunity to address any aches and pains that are persisting and need attention.
Here is the new timetable for classes after Easter:
Pilates for Beginners – Great time to Start this wonderful discipline!
There’s a new class for beginners on Tuesday evenings starting 18th April. If you really don’t want an evening session, please ring and speak to Ingrid, as there may be some daytime options available for you. Otherwise, there will be another daytime course starting at a later date. Remember that all people new to Viney Hall need to attend a 1:1 session prior to joining a class. This is really valuable for you, where you can have a personal assessment, discuss your aches and pains, learn some basics about Pilates, and understand why you may be having problems with some parts of your body, or how you may be able to improve your performance in your sport.
Classes on Pilates Reformers Machines
In response to demand, we have added 2 more classes a week (Monday 10am and Thursday 7pm) on these fantastic machines that use springs and pulleys to assist movement and also to increase resistance to movement. Small classes of four enable effective individual care from the instructor who can assist and challenge appropriately and safely. It’s fun too!
Packages
We are now offering packages so that you can buy a block 10 sessions for mat or SMFR classes, or 10 reformer sessions. This may be helpful to those who are unable to commit to a full course due, perhaps, to holidays or work times. Or for people who may like to supplement a course with extra classes when convenient. This enables you to book at short notice, so you can phone the day before or on the day to see if there is space. However, this will only work if everyone lets us know in advance if they know they are unable to attend a session. When a space becomes available, someone else can jump into it.
Book before Good Friday to secure your place
Priority is given to those already in a class, but is only available until 7th April, after which we open to all.
Try something new?
We are always looking at new things for people to try, and offer a variety of different classes. Perhaps you would like to try HIIT? This high intensity interval training is a short, sharp half-hour session that gets you fit and makes you feel great afterwards!
We have a selection of large equipment to take your pilates to higher levels – small classes of four allow you to work on what you really need to.
So, get yourself booked in by phoning reception on 516810, and we look forward to seeing you (rejuvenated!) after Easter.
In the meantime, have a lovely Easter!
With love from Pip, and all the Viney Hall Team
