Corticosteroid and local anaesthetic by injection is occasionally used in the treatment of stubborn conditions such as shoulder impingements or capsulitis (frozen shoulder), tennis elbow or plantar fasciitis.

Two of our physiotherapists have studied for a diploma in injection therapy.

A full explanation and warnings are always given prior to an injection being given. The consent of the GP is also requested.

The advantage of having an injection given by your physiotherapist is the accuracy of diagnosis is always good, and the injection is used in conjunction with other treatments to obtain better results. Sorting the cause of the problem is essential, rather than just treating the symptoms – or it will just come back again.
